REB was commissioned by pan pipes soloist Roar Engelberg in 2010 and was premiered by Engelberg and Helgeland Sinfonietta in Mosjøen in 2012. In conjunction with the recording by Trondheim Symphony Orchestra in 2021 the work was revised for full orchestra.
