New pieces

In the course of his long relationship with Norsk  Musikforlag A/S, most of Kjell Mørk Karlsen´s music for orchestra, his chamber music, as well as his music for choir and solo pieces, have been published.
Kjell Mørk Karlsen has had a long and expansive career with an increasing number of pieces performed abroad.
He trained as a composer, organist, and oboist and in Oslo, Copenhagen and Helsinki. Over the years he has played in some of the biggest orchestras in Norway, such as the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra and the Norwegian Opera Orchestra, and as an organist in several cathedrals in Norway. In recent years he has mainly focused on his work as a composer. His pieces Suite for Organ and Spellemannslag and Toccata Grande II – first performed in Uppsala Cathedral (Sweden) last autumn – and Partita Brevis 2 for viola and cello have just been published. The latter was performed by musicians from Neue Philharmonie Westfalen on 8 February.
