A Workbook for Vibraphone and Marimba Players is a project Kjell Samkopf has been working on for 25 years. In the course of this time, the project has grown into an extensive performance method comprising nine volumes.
Playing the Vibraphone and Marimba is volume 1 of A Workbook for Vibraphone and Marimba Players. The book addresses basic aspects such as posture, how to hold two and four mallets, and provides an overview over what is covered by the term ‘marimba technique’. This volume also includes suggestions on how to develop technique as well as outlining a suggested daily practice routine.
