Dame Evelyn Glennie performs Cohen´s Prelude 49
The Kremerata Baltica first performed Jacques Cohen´s arrangement of Mussorgsky´s Pictures at an Exhibition under Cohen’s direction during their summer festival in Sigulda in June 2014. An effective and beautiful arrangement which gives string orchestras the opportunity to perform this key work.
In October and November they toured the piece in Vienna, Heidelberg and Basel.
The piece will also be included on the Isis Ensemble´s new CD to be released this spring. On 30th March 2015, Evelyn Glennie and the Isis Ensemble will give the UK premiere of Prelude 49 for Vibraphone and Strings by Jacques Cohen at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, conducted by the composer.

This month his piece Love Journey was published: The piece is a setting for soprano and strings of seven songs from a series of 36 poems by James Joyce (1882 – 1941) which he entitled Chamber Music. The first performance was given on 31 March 2014 at the Purcell Room at the Queen Elizabeth Hall by Marie Vassiliou, accompanied by the Isis Ensemble and conducted by the composer.
